DIY Surveillance
PlatformA consumer-facing surveillance equipment store built on Magento 2 with a Hyvä front end — a full catalog, a custom dropship fulfillment module, and a content library of roughly 96 how-to guides driving organic acquisition.
Overview
DIY Surveillance sells NDAA-compliant surveillance equipment direct to consumers and serious DIY installers — a different audience from the dealer wholesale channel, requiring its own catalog, pricing, and content strategy.
The storefront runs Magento 2.4.8 Open Source with a Hyvä child theme for front-end performance, hosted on Cloudways. It shares infrastructure with a second, entirely separate store, with isolation enforced at the app-user and search-index level so neither can affect the other.
Most of the surface area is content rather than code: roughly 96 how-to guides, category-level SEO copy, and 12 use-case landing pages, all managed as CMS entities and deployed through scripted, idempotent changes rather than hand edits in an admin panel.
